About Us

introduction

Earth One Foundation, run by Shishiyamasu, is a non-profit organization that connects people and cultures. We aim to be a bridge between Japan and Sri Lanka by creating opportunities for students and local residents to interact, learn, share and celebrate their cultures through educational and cultural events and exchange activities.

Our mission is to contribute to the development of the local community by supporting students and communities in Japan and Sri Lanka in deepening mutual respect, cultural understanding, and learning. Through various events, exchange programs, and other activities, we foster dialogue and cooperation between the two countries, deepening ties between the two countries.

We envision a world where cultural exchange is a pathway to peace, friendship, and development. Earth One Foundation aspires to be the leading bridge between Japan and Sri Lanka, fostering activities that bring students, educators, and communities together to learn from each other, respect diversity, and build a more connected future.

Student Exchange Program

We plan and run short-term and long-term exchange programs for students to study and experience life in Japan or Sri Lanka.

Cultural Events

To promote mutual understanding between Japan and Sri Lanka, we will hold Japanese-Sri Lankan cultural events, workshops, performances, etc.

Language and Skills Training

In addition to Japanese language courses for Sri Lankan students, we also offer soft skills workshops.

Regional Development Projects

We support Sri Lankan schools, libraries and community centers through the provision of educational resources, donations and collaborative projects with volunteers from Japan.

United Nations Support Foundation Certificate of Appreciation Presentation Ceremony

The first student exchange event between Kinuta Junior High School and a school in Sri Lanka utilized Zoom technology to allow students from 6,800 km apart to interact in real time. By sharing their cultures, school life, and dreams for the future, they were able to foster international friendships even amid the pandemic.

The CEO of Shishiyamasu visited a high school in Sri Lanka and exchanged views and engaged in cultural exchange with students and faculty members.
The purpose of this visit is to deepen international understanding, to foster each student's independence and expressiveness, and to improve their language and communication skills. It also aims to strengthen cooperation and friendship between the schools, to foster understanding of different cultures, and to foster mutual respect.

Through this initiative, it is expected that the school will expand its international network and create international connections within the local community. Through these international exchange opportunities, Shishiyamasu aims to help students learn about diverse values and develop the skills they need to thrive in the global society of the future.

We held a "Dansal" event in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka.

As part of the volunteer activities of the Earth One Foundation, we held a traditional charity event called "DANSAL" in the ancient capital of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka, to coincide with the Moon Viewing Poya holiday.

Dansal is a free food-giving activity held on full moon days in Sri Lanka, based on the Buddhist teaching of "dana." By serving food and drink to local people, worshippers, and tourists, the aim is to spread compassion and a spirit of sharing.

This activity brought together many local residents and provided a warm opportunity for interaction.
Earth One Foundation will continue to promote international support activities through volunteer activities and international exchanges like this, deepening intercultural understanding and valuing connections with local communities.
